When you use the SpendSmart mobile application ("App"), you trust us with your information. In this Privacy Policy, we seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it. This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through our App.
We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal financial data on our servers. SpendSmart is designed as an offline-first expense tracker. The financial data you enter into the App remains strictly on your device.

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it through supported export functionality.
SpendSmart offers receipt scanning and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) functionality using Google ML Kit. The image processing occurs entirely locally on your device. We do not upload your receipts, images, or extracted text to our servers.
To support the free version of SpendSmart, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and process certain information about your device to provide personalized and non-personalized ads. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites or apps that use their services by visiting Google's Privacy & Terms.
Through our use of Google AdMob, the App may access your device's Advertising ID (e.g., Google Advertising ID on Android). This identifier is used solely by the ad network to serve relevant advertisements. You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your device's system settings.
To protect your local data, SpendSmart offers PIN security and Biometric authentication (e.g., fingerprint or face recognition). Your PIN and biometric data are never collected by us or transmitted to any servers. This information is managed securely by your device's operating system.
SpendSmart utilizes local device notifications to remind you of budgets, savings goals, or pending transactions. These notifications are scheduled and triggered entirely on your device, without the use of external push notification servers.
The App allows you to export your financial data as a PDF report. This report is generated locally on your device. It is only shared if you explicitly choose to share the file using your device's share sheet (e.g., sending it via email or a messaging app).

Since your financial data is stored locally, it is retained on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. If you uninstall the App, locally stored financial data may be deleted from your device.
You have full control over your data. You can delete or reset all your financial records at any time through the App's settings menu or by clearing the App's storage data via your device's system settings. Uninstalling the App will also immediately delete all associated local data.
Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. Because all data entry is stored locally, no child's personal data is transmitted to us.
We value your trust in providing us with your personal information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. We rely on the secure storage mechanisms provided by your mobile operating system (Android) and encourage you to utilize the App's PIN or Biometric security features to protect against unauthorized physical access to your device.
Because we do not store your data on our servers, you are the sole owner of your data. Your rights to access, amend, or delete your data are completely within your control directly through the App interface.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
